Just bought a 16", and decided to go silver. Yes, space grey is nice, but I took two things into consideration after seeing a few space grey models my coworkers had:

1. Oils from your hands/palms show a lot more on the darker grey colour over time, which make it look kind of grimy.

2. Any chips/scratches that happen over time reveal a silver colour beneath the grey.

Just some food for thought when considering you'll have this computer for 4-5 years or more.

I went with space gray, but they both look very nice; can't go wrong really.

I love the contrast between the silver and the black keys - it's what I have. :D It's also less common.

If you want to stand out you might consider picking the space gray as it came out much later in 2016. I personally picked the space gray only because i had my 2012 in silver for years and wanted a change. I also have to say silver is also more forgiving in terms of dents. I have none but saw that some units look bad with dents and scratches.

Silver gang!!! Silver is timeless as they have used it since 2008 :)

Silver. Colour is super subjective so the only practical difference is that space Grey is more likely to show marks due to the coating.

Everyone gets space grey for the new macbooks, so if you want to stand out, get silver

Would be super cool if they came out with that hunter green color they have on the iphone 11 pro... I got the darker one.. And it still feels to light for me.. Don't get me wrong, i hate black laptops... but something just a little darker would hit the spot for me.

I personally like the silver because I'm the type of person to go all white with my setup and it just has better performance, so... silver

I went for the silver after a long debate in my head. What does the new mac pro come in? Silver or SG? Silver for pros .

I have a space grey 15 inch and I regret not buying the silver. So much cleaner and harder to scratch

I really like silver as a color, but it makes it look like an older MacBook Air and it just doesn't look at nice.

Space Gray looks sleek, a little stealthy, and really clean. You can't go wrong with either, but that space gray just looks so "professional" and clean. The space gray looks like a really important person in a black suit and tie sitting down and a meeting and that's the laptop he'd pull out.

Space gray, loved it on both my late 2016 and now my late 2019 16"!

My 2018 was silver and my 16" is space gray. The space gray shows a lot of fingerprints, but I'm using a dbrand skin now.
